About Ariel Rowan

Ariel Rowan is a Lismore-based artist whose work explores the emotional textures of lived experience.

Working primarily in acrylic and in charcoal, chalk and ink, Ariel’s practice blends expressive mark-making with intimacy of subject. His portraits and figurative works often carry a raw honesty — revealing vulnerability, devotion, mental complexity and quiet strength.

Recurring themes in his work include:
-
The beauty within melancholy
-
Love in its many forms
-
The unnoticed details of daily life
-
Spiritual and psychological depth
-
Community and shared humanity

Through contrast — bold colour against stark line, softness against intensity — Ariel creates works that feel both personal and universal.
